Owned by the Rex family for over 50 years, the farm had been used to raise cattle and more recently, row crops. Our story can only start where another leaves off. In 2020, we purchased an old farm on the border of Hartland and Fenton. Owned by the Rex family for over 50 years, the farm had been used to raise cattle and more recently, row crops. Now we are raising our family, and good food, right here on the farm starting with Pasture Chicken and Pork in the summer of 2021. By fall we will have Pasture Eggs available daily and don't forget pasture turkeys just in time for Thanksgiving.
We really have two sets of customers! The animals that depend on us and the people that do too. Our pasture chicken and pork comes from animals fed local supplemented with fresh pastures. Our layer flock receives the same, resulting in the best pasture eggs around.
The Scott Family and Genuine Roots Farm are dedicated to preserving the agricultural heritage of our small family run farm in Livingston County, Michigan. To raise the best pasture chicken and pork and the best tasting, most nutritious pasture eggs around. To leave the land better than we found it for the next generation.
